Presidential Center Stevo Pendarovski and Zoran Djindjic Foundation Forge Strategic Partnership to Empower Young Leaders in the Western Balkans

BELGRADE — In a significant step toward strengthening democratic resilience and regional cooperation, the Presidential Center Stevo Pendarovski and the Zoran Djindjic Foundation have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a new collaborative framework for young professionals across the Western Balkans.

The Memorandum, signed by Toshe Zafirov, President of the Association for Education and Public Policies – Presidential Center Stevo Pendarovski, and Ruzica Pavlovic Djindjic, Director of the Zoran Djindjic Foundation, establishes a partnership dedicated to enhancing democratic culture and professional development.

A Vision for Regional Democratic Growth

The core of this partnership is the joint commitment to foster a more informed and transparent public discourse throughout the region. The collaboration will focus on several key pillars:

  • Educational Advancement: Designing programs to strengthen democratic competencies and critical thinking for emerging leaders.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Exchanging practical expertise to address complex regional dynamics and European integration.
  • Capacity Building: Empowering individuals from civil society, media, and public administration to influence democratic processes.
  • Regional Networking: Promoting cross-border dialogue and robust networks among professionals to address shared challenges.

Featured Project: "Echoes of Democracy"

The flagship initiative under this MoU is the "Echoes of Democracy: Western Balkan Political Messages and the Path Forward - A School for Young Professionals".

This project will bring together 20–25 highly motivated young professionals (ages 22–40) from North Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Montenegro. The program will utilize a multi-disciplinary approach, integrating interactive workshops and direct engagement with leading practitioners to provide participants with tangible skills in advocacy and civic engagement.
